| 5 ways to build an email list |
| Email address is gold. But just like a precious nugget, it's not that easy to find. If you are just about to build an email list, start from the basics: |
 | | | Set up a sign up form on your website or a Facebook fan page. It doesn't have to be all shiny or jaw dropping. It needs to be simple (capture just the name and emails address) and reliable. | | | Want to grow a list faster? Think of a pop up or lightbox, these always generate more sign ups. | | | | | | | Running a "brick" business? Use the Point of Sale and Point of Purchase in your store or a restaurant to capture emails from visitors and customers. Simple as that! | | | | Incentivize. Give your Customers something of a value in return for the email address. Say, let it be a discount code they can use during check out. This way you get two benefits: you incentivize both sign ups and sales! | | | | Events and trade shows can be the email pots of gold! Organize promos or give out a whitepaper during a show to get the addresses from the visitors. Just remember about permission! A business card is not a permission to add a person to a mailing list! | | | | Use social media. Put a sign up form on a Facebook fan page, let people "Like" or "Tweet" your newsletters, publish your emails in social media. It's a great way to extend the reach of your company! | |
